ICC's Statement: Political violence has no place in a democracy.
The foundation of democracy rests on the principle that differences must be debated vigorously but always peacefully without intimidation or acts of violence. We do not have to agree politically but we need to be better than the example being set by our president and his followers.
Hi All,
Charlie Kirk was an internet influencer and leader of an organization that played a role in helping get DJT elected. How did we get to this place for someone like this gained such notoriety? He was never an elected leader and he certainly did not represent the nation as a whole. I am not saying his life is not important but his commentary and views were destructive and insulting to many. We should never need to shy away from disagreeing with him, in life or death.
Divisive commentary from our current president that justifies violence from the right and vilifies violence from the left: Radicals on the right were justified by anger over crime, he said. "The radicals on the left are the problem," he added. "And they're vicious. And they're horrible."
Then there is this statement: Fox & Friends host Ainsley Earhardt asked how the political landscape could be ‘fixed’ in light of recent caustic division and violence, the US president's response was “I’ll tell you something that’s going to get me in trouble, but I couldn’t care less. The radicals on the right oftentimes are radical because they don’t want to see crime... the radicals on the left are the problem.”
These statements makes it painfully clear that not all citizens in our nation are represented by this president. His words are divisive and deeply disappointing at a time when the country needs moral leadership and the ability to engage in healthy debate—debate that respects differing political views without instilling fear for one’s safety or retribution. Violence, assassinations, or making people disappear will never solve our nation’s problems; they only create more. It is an unsettling time to live in America.
Free speech and cancel culture were once major concerns for the right—until the issues applied to their rivals on the left.
So what can we do? Keep protesting. Attend rallies. Write or call your state and national representatives. Engage in respectful, informed conversations with family and friends. Stay peaceful, they don't get to define us. Educate yourself—then VOTE. Silence Kills Democracy.
Thank You All who came out to protest Citizens Bank this past Saturday morning. NO to financially supporting GEO Group, the company responsible for operating Moshannon Valley Processing Center. Enough of this administrations unnecessary abuse and disappearing people.

Volunteer for a virtual phonebank to help Dems win big in Virginia this fall. We’re helping VA Democrats flip the governor’s mansion, hold the legislature, and win other races up and down the ballot by making 1,000,000 calls to VA voters! Read on for more info on our Virginia strategy.
Have a Dem senator? Ask them to FIGHT HARD against handing Donald Trump a blank check and to thank Chrissy for voting NO last time. With a huge government funding deadline looming, we’re reminding our Democratic senators that we expect them to hold their ground -- not roll over like last time.
Have a GOP representative? Email them to help force a vote on the Epstein Files. We only need one more House Republican to sign a discharge petition that would force a congressional vote on releasing the Epstein Files. If your representative is a Republican, write them about ending the cover-up now.

Vaccine Recommendations for PA: Wondering about your flu or covid vaccine this year? If we were in normal times, Pennsylvania would use CDC guidelines for vaccine recommendations for the upcoming flu season. Covid season seems any time of the year. Pennsylvania's Board of Pharmacy chose to include non-government agencies to establish recommendations for vaccines. The three medical professional societies that were consulted are the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, as well as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Text Scams: Don't give donation via a text or even click on them. Political donation text scams use smishing (SMS phishing) to trick you into giving money to fake organizations or installing malware by clicking suspicious links. To avoid them, never click links in unsolicited texts, verify a campaign's authenticity by only donating through its official website, and report scam texts by forwarding them to 7726 (SPAM). Be wary of urgent requests, requests for payment via gift cards or wire transfers, or sites with non-HTTPS links, as these are common red flags.

FUNDING THE GOVERNMENT: (Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025) For 2025 (October 1, 2024–September 30, 2025), the U.S. Congress passed the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025 (H.R. 1968), enacted on March 11, 2025, to keep the government funded at FY 2024 levels. September 30th will be here soon. Congress needs to pass a continuing resolution (CR) to provide temporary funding for federal programs and services for the upcoming fiscal year 2026 to avoid a government shutdown. A temporary funding measure (a continuing resolution) is being negotiated to keep government agencies funded through the end of the current fiscal year and to allow Congress more time to pass full-year bills for FY2026. There are two sides to this bill because funding supports Trump admin spending that many do not agree with, but shutting the government down is an economic hardship for many and loosing government funded services such as SNAP, Healthcare or Meals on Wheels to name a few. Many of these programs cannot survive wiithout government funding so it becomes a two edged sword. HERE is a video that describes the timeline leading up to this moment and what is at stake on both sides.
